Root Canal Therapy

When a fracture of the tooth occurs or when aggressive decay enters the pulp (nerve) of the tooth it must be treated with endodontic (in the tooth} therapy. This may also be needed due to other conditions such as trauma( even years before) , to fix a tooth’s position with a crown and when more tooth then usual needs removal to correct teeth that have shifted due to spaces.

Today root canal therapy is not the terrible treatment that it makes patients think of. Proper local anesthesia makes the treatment painless. We use magnifying loops and even microscopes to see into the tooth for a better result. There have been advances in materials and instruments such as rotary files to quickly and safely instrument the tooth.

Root canal therapy has a success rate of over 95% especially in non infected teeth so having this treatment completed as soon as symptoms start is very important. When we feel a case is complicated we may refer you to one of the endodontic specialists that we work with.
